Folks, it's one of our favorite days here at Artemisia. We get to thank our amazing #FallFest2017 sponsors! First a heartfelt thank you to Illinois Humanities for their support. Our effort to create community supported theatre was given a significant boost thanks to their generosity. We hope to offer our Fall Festival patrons a digital ballot to ensure that every vote is heard. Thank you Illinois Humanities for raising empowered female voices!

Now is the perfect time to meet some of #FallFest2017's incredibly talented directors! Earlier today, we teased the highly exciting "Rush" by Callie Kimball. Now its time to meet its director, the fabulous Lindsay Tornquist!

"As an artist I was frustrated by female character's stories being told through the lens of the male protagonist. Artemisia seeks to put women at the center of the story, therefore having the audience understand and empathize with a woman's point of view."

We're thrilled to have your passion with us Lindsay! "Rush" performs Sep 27th at 7:30

Please join us in welcoming a new #FallFest2017 Team-member! Sharai Bohannon is a playwright, dramaturg, and long-time theatre enthusiast recently graduated from Texas Tech. She is also our Literary Manager and has been working hard on promoting Female-driven Theatre all over the US.

"As a woman, and specifically a woman artist, I know firsthand how important it is to lobby for inclusion and diversity in theatre. I remember what it was like to grow up with so few role models that looked like me and I think we owe it to ourselves, and younger generations, to do better as artists and as people."

Once again we are sharing #FallFest2017 artists here at Artemisia. Today's shoutout goes to actor Madeline Bunke who had this to say about her role in "Parts of Speech":

" I am thrilled to be part of a festival that brings new portraits of women into the world -- women of many ages, many times, and many personalities. I also love that the audience gets to choose which play will later be fully staged. They're not only getting a glimpse into the theater-making process, they're also getting the chance to be part of it."

Overjoyed to have you with us Madeline!

Today we're proud to share with you just some of the brilliant talent we have lined up Artemisia Fall Festival 2017. Richard Esteras had this to say about his upcoming performance in "The Malta Play":

"I am very excited to be a part of this play. Being that I have faced my own challenges in life due to not being accepted because of differences, I am always intrigued by other people's stories and the trials and tribulation they go through as well as how they deal with it"

Thrilled to have you onboard Richard!
